What is e!DAL

The e!DAL API is a lightweight Java-based software framework for maintaining, publishing and sharing research data.
e!DAL stands for electronic Data Archive Library. Its main features are version tracking, metadata management, information retrieval, journal and founding agency proven registration of persistent identifiers (DOI), an embedded HTTP(S) server for public data access, access as a network file system, and a scalable storage backend.

We have chosen to apply the GNU General Public License (GPL) Version 3 License to the copyrightable parts of e!DAL, which are the source code, the executable software, the training and documentation material. You are also free to adapt, remix, transform, and build upon e!DAL for any purpose, even commercially.
